Reflection

I enjoyed tracking my progress over the past ten days. It helped me hold myself accountable and stick to my goals. I found the blogger website easy to use and accessible, making it easier for me to log in and post. The only challenging thing was finding resources for green vegetables and different recipes. I will continue to track my goals, as it holds more accountability. If you aren't following, it is easier not to make your goals happen. As a health professional, I can create a blog and post. It is a great way to interact with others and share tips and information about a healthy lifestyle. Spreading awareness of health conditions and wellness is essential to me, and a blog is a great way to share it with others.

The Benefits of Improving Health

The internet has some great resources for walking tips. There are many platforms to keep you motivated; I also like to use my apple watch to track my steps. The CDC has excellent recommendations for walking exercises and other healthy habits; this is the site I prefer. I also like looking at different healthy eating websites, such as the clean eating kitchen. You can find great recipes for vegetables and their health benefits. Over the past week, walking and taking extra steps over the past week kept me motivated, and I started feeling more energized throughout the day. Eating vegetables with meals was challenging; it got boring, and I had to change the recipes to stick to my goals. By making these small changes throughout the week, I noticed I had a healthy digestive system and more energy and felt good. I will continue to incorporate these small changes into my lifestyle; they have many benefits to help me stay healthy! Walking Campaign Tools | Tools & Resources | Workplace Healt...

Finding Health Information

Walking each day can reduce your risk of illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. It can also help ease joint pain and boost your immune system. Adding extra steps into your daily routine has many positive outcomes. Incorporating leafy greens into your everyday diet has many health benefits. Which vegetables am I talking about? Darker green vegetables such as kale, broccoli, and bok choy. These vegetables carry vitamins such as vitamin c, fiber, and antioxidants. They also aid in heart health and digestion. If I continue with my goals over the next week, I will see short-term results, such as; improving my mood and burning calories. If I continue longer than my goal for the long-term goal, I will see results in heart health and reduce my risk of other illnesses and extend my life. The short-term benefits of continuing to eat green vegetables include; being rich in vitamins which will help your immune system. The long-term impact would be to help fight cancer, heal wounds ...

Balancing the Dimensions of Wellness

My physical and emotional wellness are off balance.  My behavioral goal is to increase my physical activity and make healthier decisions to improve my physical and emotional health.  To achieve these behavioral goals, I will start by tracking my daily steps and ensure I take at least 10,000 steps. I will take the stairs rather than the elevator at work and take short walks on my breaks. I will make sure I get adequate rest and sleep. I will start on homework an hour earlier, giving me time to get to bed earlier. I will be well-rested and able to think with a clear mind. I will eat more green vegetables with my lunch and dinner and remove carbs such as bread or potatoes. I love spinach and broccoli; I will add these to my grocery list, so they are readily available.  Physical health is significant to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Any slight change to increase activity can have a considerable impact. Taking extra steps daily can improve my overall health, and exercise...

Introduction to the Dimensions of Wellness

There are six dimensions of wellness, occupational, physical, social, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional. This is what they mean to me. Occupational health is being in a healthy environment at your workplace and having healthy relationships with co-workers. Physical wellness focuses on healthy well-being, nutrition, exercise, and self-care. Social health is being open-minded to other ideas and open with community members. Intellectual health is being a critical thinker and developing your own ideas. Spiritual wellness is putting my beliefs into my health journey. Emotional wellness is expressing your feelings and relating them to your fitness journey.
